The Ancaster Avalanche tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the St. Catharines Falcons would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 5-3.

A goal by Brennan Feasey put St. Catharines up 5-2 in the second period, but Ancaster pulled to within two on Zach Niemanen's tally 5:49 into the third period.

The Falcons got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game.

The Avalanche took out Braydon Banitsiotis after he had made 20 saves and installed Matt Calas in goal, where he finished with one save and the loss.
