Boles leads Fort Erie over Port Colborne, 6-3

Mike Boles had two goals and two assists to lead the Fort Erie Meteors to a 6-3 victory over the Port Colborne Pirates.

Boles' tallies came at 12:57 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and 11:30 into the second to make the score 3-2 Fort Erie.

Fort Erie stifled Port Colborne's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Meteors' offense rang up 34 shots on the Pirates' net. Fort Erie found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Meteors average 3.3 goals per contest. The defensemen of Fort Erie were also effective in Port Colborne's zone, and came away with three goals.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Richard DeMarco, who also registered one goal and three assists to lead the team in points and Aaron Wanat, who also had one goal and one assist. Fort Erie also had goals scored by Jack Webb and Bryce Biller, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Kyle Marino, who had two and Austin Carroll, Nicolas Giancola, Matt Marsden, and Jared Marino, who contributed one a piece.

The Pirates' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Fort Erie power plays.

Liam Conway rejected 23 shots on goal for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Marcus Hlywka recorded 28 saves for Port Colborne. The Pirates incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
