Brown's big game bests Port Colborne in 10-1 Caledonia win

Cody Brown had two goals and three assists to lead the Caledonia Corvairs to a 10-1 victory over the Port Colborne Pirates.

Brown scored at 10:34 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledonia and again while 18:19 into the second to make the score 4-1 Caledonia.

Port Colborne's power play was ineffective against Caledonia's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Corvairs' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Port Colborne power plays. Caledonia's offense rang up 65 shots on the Pirates' net. The Corvairs outdid their season average for goals scored. Caledonia averages 5.1 goals per game.

Caledonia additionally got points from Spencer Gourlay, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Scott Dorian, who also grabbed two goals and one assist, Cosimo Fontana, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Jake Brown, who also racked up one goal and three assists. Connor Murphy also scored for Caledonia. More assists for Caledonia came via Connor Patton, Curtis DOrtenzo, and Jeffrey Marlott, who each chipped in one and Jordan Peacock, Mitch Brown, Kyler Nixon, and Matt Quilty, who contributed two a piece.

Port Colborne's offense operated below it season average. The Pirates average 3.1 goals per game.

Port Colborne was led by Cody Levasseur, who scored the team's only goal. Levasseur scored short handed 11:22 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Pirates were on a disadvantage when Ty Learn went off the ice for cross checking.

DOrtenzo rejected 24 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jake Danson made 55 saves for Port Colborne on 65 shots. The Pirates incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
