St. Marys falls apart in second, loses to xLeamington, 10-2Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Thu, Jan 09, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The St. Marys Lincolns allowed the xLeamington Flyers to net five goals during the second period and fell, 10-2. xLeamington got the win behind a great game by Alex Seguin, who had two goals and three assists. Seguin scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:05 into the first period to make the score 2-1 xLeamington. The Flyers had gained a power play chance when Colin Nancekinell was whistled for high sticking. Chris Scott assisted on the tally. Seguin's next tally on the power play made the score 9-1 xLeamington with 4:56 left in the third period. xLeamington had taken the advantage when St. Marys' Matt Smallman got sent off for charging. Cale Allen picked up the assist. The Lincolns' power play was ineffective against the Flyers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. xLeamington forced Lincolns' goalies to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots and forcing 43 saves. Tyler Beattie made nine stops and Kyle Sephton made 34. For the Flyers, Opblinger and Spidalieri were ejected from the contest. St. Marys incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
