Behind a great game by Michael Verboom, who had two goals and three assists, the xChatham Maroons defeated the Lambton Shores Predators, 7-3. Verboom scored at 13:56 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while on the power play 5:38 into the second to make the score 3-1 xChatham.Lambton Shores fell victim to a deadly xChatham power play, which ripped the Predators for four goals. The Maroons' offense rang up 49 shots on Lambton Shores' net. xChatham struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 36 penalty minutes for 11 opposing power plays. xChatham also got points from Kyle Brothers, who also finished with three goals and one assist and Adam Arseneault, who also registered one goal and two assists. Ian Faubert also scored for xChatham. More assists for xChatham came via Tanner Ferguson, who had one and Steven Szekesy, who had three. The Predators forced the Maroons goalie Jacob Keogh to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Lambton Shores was led by Bryan Boersma, who had one goal. Boersma scored on the power play 2:46 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. A slashing penalty on Mark Fratarcangelli had put the Predators on the power play. Ryan Fraser assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Lambton Shores included Cody Perriam and Nick Sproveiro, who each put in one.
