Greg Jambrosich scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the St. Catharines Falcons held off the challenges of the Thorold Blackhawks in a tough 6-4 win. St. Catharines took over the lead for good with a goal by Jambrosich at 14:00 in the first period. Mark Rodgers assisted on the tally.The Falcons got the win on the strength of a great game by Rodgers, who had one goal and three assists. Rodgers scored 12:13 into the second period to make the score 5-3 St. Catharines. Jambrosich picked up the assist. St. Catharines' Jonathon D Ilario was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 25 saves and let only one puck past him. The Falcons could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. St. Catharines additionally got points from Jambrosich, who also registered two goals and one assist. Others who scored for St. Catharines included Broderick Kelly, Yanni Rallis, and Brennan Feasey, who scored one goal each. More assists for St. Catharines came via Nigel Slade, who had two and Ryan Doucette and Tommy Barszcz, who contributed one a piece. Thorold's offense rang up 40 shots on St. Catharines' net. The Blackhawks were led by Owen Sobchak, who finished with one goal and three assists. Sobchak scored 19:48 into the first period to make the score 4-3 St. Catharines.
