Waterloo survives Brampton comeback, wins 4-2

The Brampton Bombers tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Waterloo Siskins held on for a 4-2 victory.

Waterloo took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Brampton storm back on a Brad Sheppard goal 15:46 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

Jarrett Parker had a great game for the Siskins, netting two goals. Parker scored at 14:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Waterloo and again while 17:30 into the first to make the score 3-0 Waterloo.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 8:32 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

Waterloo kept the Bombers' goalie busy throughout the game, and Bryan Raymond made 32 saves on 36 shots.

Waterloo additionally got points from Andrew Brubacher, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Waterloo also got a goal from Michael Mantenuto as well. In addition, Waterloo received assists from Connor Bodnar, who had two and Eric Cimino and Joshua Defarias, who contributed one a piece.

Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. The Siskins were unable to stop the Bombers from sending pucks towards the net, and Brampton eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.

Mark Shoemaker also scored for Brampton. More assists for Brampton came via Connor Andersen, Josh Villaflor, and Phil Caputo, who each chipped in one.

Leo Lazarev recorded 32 saves for Waterloo. The Siskins ended with 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major. Waterloo ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Danny Hanlon was ejected from the game. The Bombers totaled 19 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 0-for-1 on the power play. For Brampton, Ethan Morrison was ejected from the game.
