Bradley Van Schubert made 33 saves to complete the shutout and led the Guelph Hurricanes to a 5-0 win against the Brampton Bombers. Matt Lippa had two goals to lead Guelph to victory. Lippa scored at 5:13 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph and again while on the power play 9:49 into the second to make the score 5-0 Guelph. Brampton's power play was ineffective against the Hurricanes' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Guelph's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on six Brampton power plays. The Hurricanes forced the Bombers goalie Bryan Raymond to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Guelph additionally got points from Chad Herron, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. The Hurricanes incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Bombers' Raymond stopped 28 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Brampton incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
