Naus' hat trick boosts St. Marys over St. Thomas, 4-2

The St. Thomas Stars could not stop the St. Marys Lincolns' Max Naus, who tallied a hat trick in a 4-2 win.

Naus notched his first tally 3:43 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:42 into the first and at 7:27 into the third.

St. Thomas' power play was ineffective against St. Marys' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Lincolns' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven St. Thomas power plays.

St. Marys also got a goal from Rai Diloreto as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Mike Siddall and Braydon Blight, who each chipped in one and Cody Filson and Ocean Check, who contributed two a piece.

St. Marys was unable to stop the Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Thomas eventually piled up 48 shots on goal.

The Stars were led by Alex Morgan, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Morgan scored 19:11 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Marys. Luc Knight picked up the assist. Cam Garrow also scored for St. Thomas. Other players who recorded assists for St. Thomas were John Warren and Carson Brookshaw, who each chipped in one.

The Lincolns' Andrew Masters stopped 46 shots out of the 48 that he faced. St. Marys incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Nikolas Dampier made 26 saves for St. Thomas on 30 shots. The Stars incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
