Baker's big game bests Lambton Shores in 6-3 Strathroy winWest Middlesex Arena Sun, Dec 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Wes Baker had two goals and two assists to lead the Strathroy Rockets to a 6-3 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators. Baker found the back of the net 6:07 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy and again while on the power play 13:04 into the first to make the score 3-0 Strathroy.Lambton Shores was unable to stop Strathroy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rockets eventually piled up 63 shots on goal. Strathroy was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on 12 chances. Strathroy additionally got points from Shawn Grogan, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Brett Dalton, who also racked up one goal and two assists, and Cole Mayo, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Tyler Duarte also scored for Strathroy. More assists for Strathroy came via Nick Boyer and Jack Van Boekel, who each chipped in one and Kurtis Sander and Mike Mandarelli, who contributed two a piece. The Predators could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Lambton Shores was helped by Colin Burns, who registered three goals. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Steven Beenackers, who had three and Austin Fetterly, Brent Hammett, and Brendan Trottier, who each chipped in one. Tynan Lauziere recorded 22 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Predators' Justin Fazio stopped 57 shots out of the 63 that he faced. Lambton Shores registered one goal on five power play opportunities.
