Spidalieri nets hat trick, leads Leamington to 8-4 win over Sarnia

Tony Spidalieri netted a hat trick to lead the Leamington Flyers over the Sarnia Legionnaires, 8-4.

Spidalieri notched his first tally 9:44 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:01 into the first and at 1:23 into the second.

Leamington forced Sarnia goalie Hunter Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Flyers outdid their season average for goals scored. Leamington has scored at the pace of 4.6 goals per game during the current campaign.

Leamington additionally got points from Kyle Shaw, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Colin Moore, who also had one goal and one assist. Leamington also had goals scored by Ryan Muzzin, Alex Friesen, and Nathan Opblinger, who scored one goal each. In addition, Leamington received assists from Chris Scott, Daniel Robertson, and Dylan Seguin, who each chipped in one and David Dalby, Alex Seguin, Kyle Quick, and Brett Markham, who contributed two a piece.

The Flyers' Austyn Roudebush stopped 17 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Leamington incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Hunter Johnson made 33 saves for the Legionnaires on 41 shots. Sarnia incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For the Legionnaires, Josh Kestner was ejected from the game.
