Huge game by McIntosh boosts Niagara Falls over Port Colborne, 8-2Vale Center Sun, Dec 22, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Niagara Falls Canucks' Mitch McIntosh had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 8-2 win over the Port Colborne Pirates. McIntosh scored at 7:54 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Niagara Falls and again while 7:42 into the third to make the score 8-2 Niagara Falls.Port Colborne was unable to stop Niagara Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Canucks eventually piled up 56 shots on goal. Niagara Falls surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Canucks have scored at the pace of 4.2 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Niagara Falls also got points from MacKenzie Wood, who also tallied one goal and two assists and Sean Farquharson, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Niagara Falls also had goals scored by Cole Vinnai, who had two and Tory McLean and Marcus Michalski, who scored one goal each. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Drew Trendle ap, Cole Langan, and Denis Creighton, who each chipped in one and Johnny Curran and Garrett Gallardi, who contributed three a piece. The Pirates forced Niagara Falls goalie Emerson Verrier to work between the pipes, taking 43 shots. Port Colborne was led by Brock Ackerman, who racked up one goal and one assist. Ackerman scored on the power play 12:25 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Pirates had gotten the advantage when the Canucks' Michalski was sent off for unsportsmanlike conduct. Joe Dagostino picked up the assist. Port Colborne also got a goal from DYLAN BURDICK as well. In addition, Port Colborne received assists from Charlie Izaguirre, who had one. Emerson Verrier made 41 saves for Niagara Falls on 43 shots. The Canucks incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Port Colborne's Jake Danson stopped 48 shots out of the 56 that he faced. The Pirates incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Port Colborne ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ryall Ledyard was ejected from the game. |
