Rio Anzolin tallied one point to lead the LaSalle Vipers to a 5-2 victory over the London Nationals. Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:07 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. LaSalle racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and two majors for 62 minutes in penalty time. The Vipers surpassed its season average of 24.0 penalty minutes per game. LaSalle stifled London's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Vipers' offense rang up 35 shots on the Nationals' net. LaSalle also got points from Mark Manchurek, who also registered one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. LaSalle also had goals scored by Brett Langlois, Bryce Mayea, and Devon Paliani, who each put in one. More assists for LaSalle came via Austin Hall, Nikko Sablone, Nathan Savage, Daniel Beaudoin, Aaron Luchuk, and Andrew Burns, who contributed one a piece. London forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up 15 minors and two majors for 80 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 27.0 minutes per game the Nationals had been spending in the box. London excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in 10 chances. The Nationals' offense operated below they season average. London puts an average of 4.1 pucks into the net per game. The Nationals were helped by Drew Worrad, who racked up one goal. Worrad scored 10:26 into the first period to make the score 2-0 London. Jonathan Sims picked up the assist. Paul Hopkins also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Mark Gazdic, Keaton Ratcliffe, and Jeff Bauer, who each chipped in one. LaSalle's Paolo Battisti stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Team's Langlois and Sablone were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Jacob Riley rejected 30 shots on goal for London. The Nationals registered zero goals on four power play opportunities. For London, Matt Doty, Ryan Tuffin, and Bauer were ejected from the contest.
