Elmira downs Brantford in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Elmira Sugar Kings' Adam Campagnolo scored 2:25 into overtime to beat the Brantford 99ers, 3-2 (OT).

Elmira stifled Brantford's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Sugar Kings forced the 99ers goalie Marcus Del Conte to work between the pipes, taking 48 shots.

Elmira was led by Mitch Klie, who racked up two goals. Klie scored the first of his two goals at 9:49 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Elmira. Michael Wilkins picked up the assist. Klie's next tally made the score 2-2 with 5:17 left in the third period. In addition, Elmira received assists from David Savery and Zac Coulter, who each chipped in one.

Brantford put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Sugar Kings to score on any of their three power plays.

The 99ers were helped by Mitch Atkins, who registered two goals. Atkins scored the first of his two goals at 10:47 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Guy Polillo assisted on the tally. Atkins' next tally made the score 2-1 Brantford with 5:47 left in the first period. Nathan Bastian provided the assist.

Jonathan Reinhart rejected 25 shots on goal for Elmira. The Sugar Kings ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. Elmira ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Cash Seraphim was ejected from the game. Del Conte recorded 45 saves for Brantford. The 99ers totaled 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. For Brantford, Alex Deluce was ejected from the game.
