Strathroy got the win on the strength of a great game by Nick Boyer, who had two goals and one assist. Boyer scored the first of his two goals at 19:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Strathroy. Kurtis Sander picked up the assist. Boyer's next tally made the score 5-1 Strathroy with 7:04 left in the third period. The Rockets had gained a power play chance when Zack Bedard was whistled for fighting (instigator).
