Elmira downs Listowel in overtime, 3-2 (OT)Listowel Arena Fri, Dec 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Elmira Sugar Kings pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Listowel Cyclones on a clutch goal by Adam Brubacher. Elmira was led by Brubacher, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Brubacher scored 1:38 into overtime to make the score 3-2 Elmira. Brad Kobryn picked up the assist. The Sugar Kings stifled Listowel's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Elmira forced the Cyclones goalie Tanner Topham to work between the pipes, taking 40 shots. Elmira also got points from Zac Coulter, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Elmira also got a goal from Adam Campagnolo as well. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Mitch Klie and Cash Seraphim, who contributed one a piece. Listowel kept the Sugar Kings' goalie busy throughout the game, and Jonathan Reinhart made 37 saves on 39 shots. The Cyclones were helped by Brandon Frandsen, who finished with one goal. Frandsen scored 12:22 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Ray McFalls assisted on the tally. Mac Nichol also scored for Listowel. In addition, Listowel received assists from Reid Simmons and Chace Duckworth, who each chipped in one. Elmira totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For the Sugar Kings, Craig Johnson was ejected from the game. Topham rejected 37 shots on goal for Listowel. The Cyclones totaled 11 minutes in penalty time with three minors and one major and went 0-for-5 on the power play. Listowel ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ted Nichol was ejected from the game.
