Huge game by Nay boosts Brantford over Brampton, 6-3Victoria Park Arena Fri, Dec 13, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
John Nay was all over the ice for the Brantford 99ers, as he tallied two goals and two assists in Brantford's 6-3 win over the Brampton Bombers. Nay scored on the power play at 17:28 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Brantford and again while 19:33 into the third to make the score 6-3 Brantford.Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 12:29 into the first period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts. The 99ers forced Brampton's goalies to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots and forcing 26 saves. Bryan Raymond made 17 stops and Scott Patton made nine. Brantford bested its season scoring average. The 99ers have scored at the pace of 2.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Brantford also got points from Mitch Atkins, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Brantford included Cole Cummings, Paris Briscoe, and Connor McKay ( APJ ), who each put in one. More assists for Brantford came via Leonard Dziemianko, who had one, Nathan Bastian, who had two, and Guy Polillo, who had three. The Bombers racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with six minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. Brampton had been averaging 23.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Bombers forced Brantford goalie Marcus Del Conte to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. Brampton was led by Chris Maione, who registered two goals. Maione scored the first of his two goals at 3:31 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Brampton. Brandon Clelland assisted on the tally. Maione's next tally made the score 3-1 Brampton with 12:44 left in the second period. Francois Cote provided the assist. Greg Wilson also scored for Brampton. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Owen Burry and Phil Caputo, who each chipped in one. The 99ers' Del Conte stopped 29 shots out of the 32 that he faced. Brantford totaled seven minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. For the 99ers, David Storey was ejected from the game. The Bombers registered one goal on zero power play opportunities. Brampton ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Ethan Morrison was ejected from the game.
