Lambton Shores outlasts St. Marys, 3-2

The Lambton Shores Predators gutted out a close 3-2 win against the St. Marys Lincolns.

No lead was more than one goal during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Ryan Trottier at 44 seconds of the third period.

Trottier was all over the ice for Lambton Shores, as he registered two goals in the win.

The Predators forced St. Marys goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Lambton Shores also got points from Colin Burns, who also racked up one goal and two assists. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Ryan Fraser, who had one.

The Lincolns kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Fazio made 45 saves on 47 shots. St. Marys was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to two goals off of nine man advantages.

The Lincolns were helped by Mike Siddall, who tallied one goal. Siddall scored on the power play 18:05 into the second period to make the score 2-2. A roughing after whistle penalty on Brendan Trottier had put St. Marys on the power play. Cody Filson provided the assist. St. Marys additionally got points from Max Naus, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Braydon Blight, who had one.

The Predators incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Lambton Shores ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Kirk Dorman was ejected from the game. Hughes rejected 36 shots on goal for the Lincolns. St. Marys incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
