The Fort Erie Meteors could not stop the Niagara Falls Canucks' Johnny Curran, who tallied a hat trick in a 7-6 win. Curran's first goal came 8:44 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:04 into the second and at 6:02 into the third.Niagara Falls led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Canucks' MacKenzie Wood's scored at 16:44 in the third period to put Niagara Falls up 8-5. Fort Erie's power play was ineffective against the Canucks' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. Niagara Falls excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Canucks outdid their season average for goals scored. Niagara Falls has scored at the pace of 3.9 goals per game during the current campaign. The Canucks could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 24 minutes in penalties during the game.
