London wins tough contest against Lambton Shores, 4-2

The London Nationals and the Lambton Shores Predators were evenly matched throughout their contest, but London made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-2.

Neither team gained more than a two-goal lead, and Tristen Elie's goal in the second period proved to be the difference maker.

The Nationals was paced on offense by Derek Todosichuk and Elie, who combined for five points. Todosichuk racked up two goals and Elie also added one goal and two assists.

London pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

The Nationals' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Lambton Shores power plays. Lambton Shores was unable to stop London from sending pucks towards the net, and the Nationals eventually piled up 35 shots on goal.

London additionally got points from Elie, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. London also got a goal from Ryan Tuffin as well. In addition, London received assists from Matt Fuller, Paul Hopkins, Jonathan Sims, Matt Wildman, and Drew Worrad, who contributed one a piece.

The Predators were helped by Colin Burns, who finished with two goals. Burns scored the first of his two goals at 14:19 into the first period to make the score 2-1 London. Ryan Trottier assisted on the tally. Burns' next tally made the score 2-2 with 16:18 left in the second period. Brendan Trottier provided the assist.

Jacob Riley rejected 14 shots on goal for London. The Nationals registered one goal on eight power play opportunities. Justin Fazio recorded 31 saves for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. For Lambton Shores, Ryan Fraser was ejected from the game.
