LaSalle rolls over Strathroy, 6-1

The LaSalle Vipers had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over the Strathroy Rockets.

LaSalle was led by goalie Cameron Zanussi, who finished with 35 saves while allowing one goal. Zanussi managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 2.51 prior to the game.

Dylan Denomme was all over the ice for the Vipers, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Denomme scored the first of his two goals at 5:53 into the first period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Devon Paliani provided the assist. Denomme's next tally made the score 4-0 LaSalle with 18:18 left in the second period. Austin Hall assisted on the tally.

LaSalle forced Strathroy's netminders to work all game long, getting 40 shots and forcing 34 saves. Jack Moylan made 15 stops and Tynan Lauziere made 19. The Vipers managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for 12 minutes in penalty time. LaSalle wound up below its season average of 21.0 penalty minutes per game.

LaSalle also had goals scored by Mark Manchurek, who had two and Bryce Mayea and Brendan McCann, who each put in one. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nicolas Crescenzi, Brett Langlois, Daniel Beaudoin, and Andrew Burns, who each chipped in one and Nathan Veres and Aaron Luchuk, who contributed two a piece.

The Rockets were held below their usual level of production. Strathroy puts an average of 3.9 pucks into the net per game. The Rockets' offense rang up 36 shots on the Vipers' net.

Strathroy also got a goal from Chase Thornton as well. More assists for Strathroy came via Brett Dalton, who had one.

LaSalle registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Strathroy incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
