The Leamington Flyers tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Sarnia Legionnaires would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4. Sarnia took a 6-3 lead during the third period, only to have Leamington storm back on a Daniel Robertson goal 19:21 into the third period to pull to two goals down. Josh Kestner had two goals and one assist to lead the Legionnaires. Kestner scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 24 seconds into the second period to make the score 4-2 Sarnia. Jay Clarke provided the assist. Kestner's next tally on the power play made the score 5-2 Sarnia with 19:07 left in the second period. Sarnia had gained a power play chance when Ryan Muzzin was whistled for slashing. Nathan Mater assisted on the tally. The Legionnaires put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Flyers to score on any of their three power plays. Sarnia kept Leamington's goalie busy throughout the game, and Austyn Roudebush made 37 saves on 43 shots. Sarnia additionally got points from Cody Trowell, who also finished with one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Riley Babkirk, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Sarnia included Curtis Crombeen and Bobby King, who scored one goal each. In addition, Sarnia received assists from Ryan Vendramin, who had two and Jordan Fogarty, Riley Roberts, and Tyler Prong, who contributed one a piece. The Legionnaires were unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Leamington eventually piled up 45 shots on goal. The Flyers' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Leamington averages 2.1 goals allowed per game. The Flyers' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Leamington could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 40 minutes in penalties during the game. The Flyers were led by Dylan Seguin, who had one goal and one assist. Seguin scored 1:13 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Sarnia. Leamington also got points from Muzzin, who also registered one goal and one assist. David Dalby also scored for Leamington. Other players who recorded assists for Leamington were Blaine Bechard, Colin Moore, Nathan Opblinger, and Mitchell Amante, who each chipped in one. Jake Danson made 41 saves for Sarnia on 45 shots. The Legionnaires incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. For Sarnia, Mater was ejected from the game.
