Creighton's goals lift Niagara Falls to 6-3 victory over Buffalo

Behind a great game by Denis Creighton, who had two goals, the Niagara Falls Canucks defeated the Buffalo Regals, 6-3.

Creighton's tallies came at 12:27 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Niagara Falls and 12:37 into the second to make the score 4-2 Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and two majors for 44 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 35.0 minutes per game the Canucks had been spending in the box. Niagara Falls' offense rang up 40 shots on Buffalo's net. The Canucks bested their season scoring average. Niagara Falls averages 3.6 goals per game.

Niagara Falls also got points from Cole Vinnai, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Vittorio Giannico, who also had one goal and one assist. Niagara Falls also had goals scored by Johnny Curran and Marcus Michalski, who each put in one. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Matthew Mannella, Sean Farquharson, Nolan Dunn, Dylan Savory, and Billy Saxton, who contributed one a piece.

The Regals kept the Canucks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Dylan Pietrangelo made 30 saves on 33 shots. Buffalo was held back by its power play unit, which tallied two goals on nine chances.

The Regals were helped by Nicholas Matos, who had one goal. Matos scored on the power play 10:30 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Niagara Falls. Buffalo earned a power play opportunity when Vinnai was put in the box for roughing. Colton Anstey provided the assist. Others who scored for Buffalo included Christopher Moses and Matt Mahony, who scored one goal each. In addition, Buffalo received assists from Ryan Cox, who had two and Colin Farell and Travis Hicks, who each chipped in one.

Niagara Falls registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Team's Chris Harpur and Giannico were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. Ian Sylves *AP recorded 34 saves for the Regals. Buffalo ended with 17 minutes in penalty time with six minors and one major. The Regals ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Christian Nati was ejected from the game.
