Kitchener outlasts Guelph, 5-3

The game between the Kitchener Dutchmen and the Guelph Hurricanes was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Kitchener emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Dylan Bursey secured the win for the Dutchmen with a goal in the second period.

Bursey had a great game for Kitchener, netting two goals.

The Dutchmen forced Guelph goalie Stormer Santana to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Kitchener also got a goal from Keli Grant as well. Other players who recorded assists for Kitchener were Philip Moser, Mitchell Smith, Taite Wirschke (APM), Connor Cole(APM), and Adam Kawelic(APM), who each chipped in one and Kyle Ellis and John Divo, who contributed two a piece.

Kitchener was unable to stop the Hurricanes from sending pucks towards the net, and Guelph eventually piled up 33 shots on goal.

The Hurricanes were helped by Zach McFadden, who registered one goal and one assist. McFadden scored on the power play 17:25 into the third period to make the score 4-3 Kitchener. Guelph had gained a power play chance when Kawelic(APM) was whistled for tripping. Craig Martini picked up the assist. Guelph additionally got points from Michael Courvoisier, who also had one goal and one assist and Martini, who also tallied one goal and one assist. More assists for Guelph came via Lawrence Pagnan and Ryan Migliaccio, who each chipped in one.

The Dutchmen's Marc Williams stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Kitchener incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Stormer Santana made 29 saves for the Hurricanes on 33 shots. Guelph incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
