Listowel blows out Brampton, 4-1Listowel Arena Sun, Dec 01, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Listowel Cyclones were firing on all cylinders against the Brampton Bombers, and when the final buzzer sounded Cyclones emerged with a 4-1 win. Listowel's Tanner Topham was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 39 saves and let only one puck past him. Topham managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.9 prior to the game. The Cyclones pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 14 penalty minutes. Listowel stifled Brampton's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Bombers were unable to stop the Cyclones from sending pucks towards the net, and Listowel eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Cyclones were helped by Derek Elliot, who tallied one goal. Elliot scored 16:02 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Listowel. Ben Shelley assisted on the tally. Others who scored for Listowel included Kenny Huether, Tim Nauta, and Chace Duckworth, who scored one goal each. In addition, Listowel received assists from Connor Shaw, Ray McFalls, and Tanner Mighton, who each chipped in one. Brampton excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Bombers' offense rang up 40 shots on Listowel's net. Brampton was led by Francois Cote, who scored the team's only goal. Cote scored 17:07 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Listowel. Beau Goehrum picked up the assist. Bryan Raymond recorded 39 saves for the Bombers. Brampton incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
