London downs Strathroy in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

The London Nationals pulled out a 5-4 (OT) overtime victory over the Strathroy Rockets on a clutch goal by Matt Fuller.

London was paced by Fuller, who finished with one goal and one assist. Fuller scored 4:56 into overtime to make the score 5-4 London. Tristen Elie provided the assist.

Referees had their hands full with a major incident at 16:10 into the third period. Four fighting penalties were dished out along with two game misconducts.

The Nationals forced Strathroy goalie Jack Moylan to work between the pipes, taking 32 shots. London struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 24 penalty minutes for seven opposing power plays. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Others who scored for London included Anthony Kotsvos, Austin Kemp, Paul Hopkins, and Jeff Bauer, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for London were Derek Todosichuk, who had two and Kyle L Robinson, Ryan Tuffin, Keaton Ratcliffe, and Matt Wildman, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets' offense rang up 38 shots on the Nationals' net.

Strathroy was helped by Tyler Coleman, who registered one goal. Coleman scored 10:05 into the second period to make the score 2-2. Jack Van Boekel assisted on the tally. Strathroy also got points from Nick Boyer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Strathroy also had goals scored by Shawn Grogan and Kurtis Sander, who scored one goal each. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Tyler Duarte, Jack Kilgour, Brett Dalton, Cole Mayo, and Wes Baker, who contributed one a piece.

Liam Herbst made 34 saves for London on 38 shots. The Nationals registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For London, Chris Maton and Bauer were ejected from the contest. Moylan recorded 27 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy ended with 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. Team's Tony Belony and Andrew Martin were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
