Vendramin leads Sarnia over St. Thomas, 7-3Sarnia Arena Thu, Nov 28, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Sarnia Legionnaires' Ryan Vendramin had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 7-3 win over the St. Thomas Stars. Vendramin's tallies came on the power play at 15:23 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Sarnia and on the power play 14:10 into the third to make the score 6-3 Sarnia.St. Thomas fell victim to a deadly Sarnia power play, which ripped the Stars for six goals. The Legionnaires forced St. Thomas goalie Nick Dampier to work between the pipes, taking 53 shots. Sarnia found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Legionnaires average 4.7 goals per game. Sarnia additionally got points from Josh Kestner, who also registered one goal and two assists, Cody Trowell, who also had one goal and two assists, Riley Babkirk, who also finished with one goal and one assist, and Nathan Mater, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Tyler Prong also scored for Sarnia. More assists for Sarnia came via Jay Clarke and Brad Campbell, who contributed one a piece and Curtis Crombeen and Thomas Moxley, who each chipped in two. The Stars were led by Matt Simsons, who registered one goal and one assist. Simsons scored on the power play 6:55 into the second period to make the score 1-1. St. Thomas had gained a power play chance when Bobby King was whistled for high sticking. Josh Coyle(APM) assisted on the tally. Others who scored for St. Thomas included Josh Slegers and Ryan Hamelin, who scored one goal each. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Mitch Klie, who had two and Spencer Hutchinson and Alex Morgan, who contributed one a piece. Braden Palocz made 19 saves for Sarnia on 22 shots. The Legionnaires incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Dampier rejected 46 shots on goal for the Stars. St. Thomas incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
