Strathroy downs Lambton Shores, 5-2The Shores Recreation Centre Tue, Nov 26, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Brett Dalton had one point to lead the Strathroy Rockets to a 5-2 victory over the Lambton Shores Predators. Strathroy excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. The Rockets kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Tugwell made 39 saves on 44 shots. Strathroy also had goals scored by Tyler Duarte, Tony Belony, Sam Vokes, and Tyler Coleman, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Nick Boyer, who had two and Jack Kilgour, Shawn Grogan, Matt Lebert, Ryan Field, Andrew Martin, and Wes Baker, who contributed one a piece. The Predators struggled on the penalty kill, allowing Strathroy to score two power play goals on three chances. Lambton Shores was helped by Nick Sproveiro, who racked up one goal. Sproveiro scored 19:40 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Austin Fetterly assisted on the tally. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Kirk Dorman as well. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Bryan Boersma, who had one and Ty Jackson, who had two. Tynan Lauziere recorded 28 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Rockets, Lebert was ejected from the game. The Predators ended with nine minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Lambton Shores ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Jay Ritchie was ejected from the game.
