Sarnia boosted by Danson's play in net, beats Lambton Shores 4-1The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Nov 23, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Sarnia Legionnaires relied on the sparkling performance of Jake Danson in net to grab a 4-1 win against the Lambton Shores Predators. Sarnia was paced by Nathan Mater, who grabbed one goal. Mater scored 47 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Sarnia. Josh Kestner assisted on the tally. The Legionnaires kept Lambton Shores' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Fazio made 38 saves on 42 shots. Sarnia also got points from Kestner, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Ryan Vendramin, who also had one goal and one assist. Sarnia also got a goal from Brad Campbell as well. Other players who recorded assists for Sarnia were Cody Trowell, who had two and Curtis Crombeen, Jay Clarke, and Tyler Prong, who contributed one a piece. The Predators' offense rang up 38 shots on Sarnia's net. Lambton Shores found itself short handed often, totaling 24 penalty minutes and allowing five power plays. The Predators were led by Kyler Keating, who scored the team's only goal. Keating scored on the power play 1:50 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Sarnia. Lambton Shores had gained a power play chance when Thomas Moxley was whistled for roughing. Austin Fetterly picked up the assist. The Legionnaires' Danson stopped 37 shots out of the 38 that he faced. Sarnia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Predators registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
