Ryan Migliaccio netted a hat trick to lead the Guelph Hurricanes over the Brampton Bombers, 6-4. Migliaccio notched his first tally 7:04 into the first period. He then added goals at 2:01 into the third and at 19:08 into the third.Brampton's power play was ineffective against Guelph's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded. The Hurricanes excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Bombers were unable to stop Guelph from sending pucks towards the net, and the Hurricanes eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. Guelph found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. This season, the Hurricanes average 3.1 goals per contest. Guelph also got points from Matt Lippa, who also tallied one goal and five assists to lead the team in points and Craig Martini, who also finished with two goals and two assists. More assists for Guelph came via Zach McFadden, who had two. Brampton racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with 11 minors and one major for 27 minutes in penalty time. The Bombers surpassed its season average of 23.0 penalty minutes per game. Brampton was helped by Francois Cote, who grabbed one goal. Cote scored 10:05 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Guelph. Greg Wilson provided the assist. Others who scored for Brampton included Cameron Cruickshank, Owen Burry, and Brad Bollert, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Brampton were Mark Shoemaker, Jason Smith, Brad Sheppard, Phil Caputo, Tyler Simmons, and Brandon Clelland, who contributed one a piece. Bradley Van Schubert recorded 24 saves for Guelph. The Hurricanes totaled 29 minutes in penalty time with seven minors and one major and went 1-for-6 on the power play. For Guelph, Matt Marsden was ejected from the game. Bryan Raymond made 34 saves for the Bombers on 39 shots. For Brampton, Ethan Morrison and Cote were ejected from the contest.
