Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as the Caledonia Corvairs defeated the Thorold Blackhawks in a shootout 4-3 (1-0 SO).

Caledonia came back from a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Corvairs trailed 3-1 after a goal by Thorold's Roger Sherwood at 8:45 in the third period. Caledonia knotted things up at 3-3 on a goal by Cody Brown at 13:29 in the third period.

The Corvairs' offense rang up 48 shots on the Blackhawks' net.

Caledonia was helped by Matt Quilty, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Quilty scored on the power play 12:10 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Thorold. The Corvairs had taken the advantage when Thorold's Quinn Geddes got sent off for hooking. Jordan Peacock assisted on the tally. Caledonia also got points from Brown, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Connor Murphy, who also had one goal and one assist. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Cosimo Fontana, who had two.

The Blackhawks did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Thorold puts an average of 5.1 pucks into the net per game. Caledonia was unable to stop the Blackhawks from sending pucks towards the net, and Thorold eventually piled up 47 shots on goal.

Thorold also had goals scored by Matt Pizzo and Owen Sobchak, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Thorold were Chris Goulet, Joe Mitchell, Michael Sharpe, Jason Abbott, and Kyle Tanev, who contributed one a piece.

Colin Furlong rejected 44 shots on goal for the Corvairs. Caledonia incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Brendan Polasek recorded 44 saves for the Blackhawks. Thorold incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
