Conway, Welland blank Buffalo, 3-0

Liam Conway recorded a shutout against the Buffalo Regals as the Welland Jr. Canadians picked up a 3-0 win.

Welland was led by Tyler Stranges, who tallied one goal. Stranges scored 1:03 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Welland. Patrick Desjardins picked up the assist.

The Jr. Canadians stifled Buffalo's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Welland's offense rang up 37 shots on the Regals' net.

Welland also had goals scored by Jonathan Goldsworthy and Damien Lalonde, who scored one goal each. More assists for Welland came via Christian DiFonzo and Brayden Stortz, who each chipped in one.

Buffalo managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Regals wound up below its season average of 18.0 penalty minutes per game. Buffalo's offense operated below it season average. The Regals put an average of 2.1 pucks into the net per game. Buffalo kept the Jr. Canadians' goalie busy throughout the game, and Conway made 37 saves on 37 shots.

Welland incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Adam Dentico recorded 34 saves for the Regals. Buffalo registered zero goals on four power play opportunities.
