Kitchener rips Waterloo, 5-2Waterloo Rec Complex Sun, Nov 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Waterloo Siskins had trouble finding ways to stop the Kitchener Dutchmen, which beat Siskins, 5-2. Kitchener got the win behind a great game by Keegan Calder, who had one goal and two assists. Calder scored 37 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kitchener. Adam Kawelic(APM) picked up the assist. Waterloo was unable to stop the Dutchmen from sending pucks towards the net, and Kitchener eventually piled up 31 shots on goal. Others who scored for Kitchener included Keli Grant, who had two and Scott Pedersen and Ty Learn, who scored one goal each. More assists for Kitchener came via Dylan Bursey, who had one and Clayton Greer and Mitchell Dempsy, who contributed two a piece. The Siskins forced the Dutchmen goalie Marc Williams to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Waterloo was led by Joshua Defarias, who grabbed one goal. Defarias scored 6:25 into the third period to make the score 3-1 Kitchener. Ryan Taylor provided the assist. Waterloo also got a goal from Troy Lajeunesse as well. Other players who recorded assists for Waterloo were Sean Mitchell-AP and Christian Mroczkowski, who each chipped in one. Williams rejected 31 shots on goal for Kitchener. The Dutchmen incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Leo Lazarev recorded 26 saves for the Siskins. Waterloo incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
