The Sarnia Legionnaires almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the London Nationals managed to pull out a 9-7 win in the end. London led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Nationals' Tristen Elie's scored at 6:11 in the second period to put London up 5-2. Derek Todosichuk and Elie provided the spark for the Nationals, combining for five goals and one assist. Todosichuk finished with two goals and one assist and Elie also added three goals. Sarnia was unable to stop London from sending pucks towards the net, and the Nationals eventually piled up 44 shots on goal. London's goal total was higher than its season average. The Nationals have scored at the pace of 4.6 goals per game during the current campaign. London additionally got points from Paul Hopkins, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Keaton Ratcliffe, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for London included Ryan Tuffin and Matt Wildman, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for London were Austin Kemp, who had three, Wade Russell, Anthony Kotsvos, Matt Fuller, Ryan Shipley, and Chris Maton, who each chipped in one, and Jeff Bauer and Scott Lombardi, who contributed two a piece. The Legionnaires kept London's goalie busy throughout the game, and Jacob Riley made 38 saves on 45 shots. Sarnia outdid its season average for goals scored. This season, the Legionnaires average 4.5 goals per contest. Sarnia was led by Nathan Mater, who had two goals and one assist. Mater scored the first of his two goals at four seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Sarnia. Jay Clarke picked up the assist. Mater's next tally made the score 2-0 Sarnia with 12:43 left in the first period. The Legionnaires had gotten the advantage when the Nationals' Riley was sent off for delay of game. London incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Jake Danson rejected 35 shots on goal for Sarnia. The Legionnaires incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. For Sarnia, Mater was ejected from the game.
