LaSalle downs Lambton Shores in overtime, 5-4 (OT)

Devon Paliani gave the LaSalle Vipers a 5-4 (OT) victory over the Lambton Shores Predators when he scored 36 seconds into the extra period.

LaSalle overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. The Vipers fell behind 3-1 after a goal by Lambton Shores' Matthew Kenney at 14:01 in the second period. LaSalle tied things up at 4-4 on a goal by Ryan Trottier at 7:11 in the third period.

The Vipers got the win on the strength of a great game by Paliani, who had two goals and one assist. Paliani scored the first of his two goals at 19:56 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Lambton Shores. Nathan Savage provided the assist. Paliani's next tally made the score 5-4 LaSalle with 19:24 left in overtime. Brett Langlois picked up the assist.

The Predators were unable to stop LaSalle from sending pucks towards the net, and the Vipers eventually piled up 50 shots on goal.

LaSalle additionally got points from Mark Manchurek, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Dylan Denomme, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Daniel Beaudoin also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Nicolas Crescenzi, who had one.

Lambton Shores forced Vipers' goalies to work in net, firing 46 shots and forcing 42 saves. Cameron Zanussi made 20 stops and Paolo Battisti made 22. The Predators stifled LaSalle's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

Lambton Shores was helped by Brendan Trottier, who registered two goals. Trottier scored the first of his two goals at 10:20 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Lambton Shores. Jay Ritchie provided the assist. Trottier's next tally made the score 2-1 Lambton Shores with 6:41 left in the second period. The Predators earned a power play opportunity when Zack Percy was put in the box for cross checking. Trottier picked up the assist. Lambton Shores also got points from Trottier, who also tallied one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Other players who recorded assists for Lambton Shores were Adam Wammes and Nick Sproveiro, who each chipped in one.

The Vipers incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Justin Fazio rejected 45 shots on goal for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
