Huge game by Rallis boosts St. Catharines over Niagara Falls, 7-4

The St. Catharines Falcons' Yanni Rallis had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 7-4 win over the Niagara Falls Canucks.

Rallis beat Dylan Pietrangelo with a shot 8:07 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Catharines. Kyle Woodhouse assisted on the tally. Rallis dished an assist on Woodhouse's goal that made the score 4-0 St. Catharines at 16:17 into the first period. He added another helper on Brennan Feasey's goal that made the score 7-4 St. Catharines at 19:04 into the third period.

St. Catharines forced its penalty killing units to work especially hard during the game, picking up eight minors and one major for 41 minutes in penalty time. The Falcons surpassed its season average of 20.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Catharines made Niagara Falls' goaltenders to work between the pipes, totaling 33 shots and forcing 26 saves. Pietrangelo made 15 stops and Hunter Johnson made 11. The Falcons' goal total was higher than their season average. St. Catharines averages 4.7 goals per game.

St. Catharines additionally got points from Woodhouse, who also registered two goals and one assist, Ryan Doucette, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Nigel Slade, who also racked up one goal and one assist. St. Catharines also got a goal from Tyler Hildebrant as well. In addition, St. Catharines received assists from Broderick Kelly, who had two, Tyler Jackson, who had three, and Ryan Stayner, Aaron Taylor, and Sam Berg, who each chipped in one.

The Canucks kept the Falcons' goalie busy throughout the game, and Knick Dawe made 33 saves on 37 shots.

Niagara Falls was helped by Cole Vinnai, who had two goals. Vinnai scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 6:45 into the third period to make the score 6-3 St. Catharines. The Canucks had gotten the advantage when St. Catharines' Mitch Bursey was sent off for roughing. Mitch McIntosh provided the assist. Vinnai's next tally on the power play made the score 6-4 St. Catharines with 1:44 left in the third period. McIntosh picked up the assist. Sean Farquharson also scored for Niagara Falls. More assists for Niagara Falls came via Tory McLean, Johnny Curran, and Cole Langan, who contributed one a piece.

The Falcons registered two goals on five power play opportunities. St. Catharines ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Berg was ejected from the game. Niagara Falls incurred 62 minutes in penalty time with six minors. For the Canucks, Vinnai was ejected from the game.
