Jonathon D Ilario recorded a shutout against the Port Colborne Pirates as the St. Catharines Falcons picked up a 2-0 win.

Port Colborne's power play was ineffective against St. Catharines' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Falcons were led by Broderick Kelly, who had one goal. Kelly scored on the power play 1:04 into the second period to make the score 1-0 St. Catharines. Greg Jambrosich picked up the assist.

St. Catharines stifled the Pirates' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Falcons were held below their usual level of production. St. Catharines puts an average of 4.7 pucks into the net per game. The Falcons' defensive play was more effective than usual against Port Colborne. St. Catharines gives up 2.6 goals on average per game. The Pirates were unable to stop the Falcons from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Catharines eventually piled up 34 shots on goal.
