Behind a great game by Carson Johnstone, who had one goal and three assists, the Fort Erie Meteors defeated the Buffalo Regals, 7-2. Johnstone beat Ian Sylves *AP with a shot 15:06 into the first period on the power play to make the score 2-0 Fort Erie. A cross checking penalty on Ddomonic Gruttadauria AP had put Fort Erie on the power play. Braden Kavaratzis picked up the assist. Johnstone dished an assist on Jesse Pereira's goal that made the score 4-0 Fort Erie at 14:44 into the second period. He then added assists on Richard DeMarco's goal at 18:05 into the second and on Kavaratzis' goal at 19:52 into the third.Buffalo's power play was ineffective against the Meteors' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. Fort Erie kept the Regals' goalie busy throughout the game, and Sylves *AP made 45 saves on 52 shots. The Meteors bested their season scoring average. This season, Fort Erie averages 3.1 goals per contest. Fort Erie also got points from Kavaratzis, who also tallied one goal and two assists, Nik Passero, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Pereira, who also had two goals and one assist. Fort Erie also got a goal from Jared Marino as well. More assists for Fort Erie came via Sam Quaranta, who had two and Mac Passero, Jack Webb, and Kyle Marino, who contributed one a piece. The Meteors' Matt Baker stopped 20 shots out of the 22 that he faced. Fort Erie incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Buffalo incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
