Battisti leads LaSalle to shutout victory over Strathroy

Paolo Battisti recorded a shutout against the Strathroy Rockets as the LaSalle Vipers picked up a 6-0 win.

LaSalle was paced by Daniel Beaudoin, who had one goal. Beaudoin scored 3:01 into the second period to make the score 1-0 LaSalle. Nathan Savage picked up the assist.

The Vipers forced Strathroy's netminders to work all game long, finishing with 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Tynan Lauziere made 18 stops and Dan Black made 18. LaSalle's defensive effort looked to be improved. The Vipers allow 2.5 goals per game.

LaSalle additionally got points from Blake Jones, who also finished with two goals and one assist and Dylan Denomme, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Rio Anzolin also scored for LaSalle. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Billy Eansor, who had two and Nikko Sablone, Andrew Burns, and Brendan McCann, who each chipped in one.

The Rockets' offense operated below they season average. Strathroy averages 4.0 goals per game.

Battisti recorded 25 saves for LaSalle. The Vipers totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and two majors and went 0-for-1 on the power play. Team's Sablone and Ben Hanus were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game. The Rockets totaled 22 minutes in penalty time with one minor and two majors and went 0-for-2 on the power play. For Strathroy, Tony Belony and Colin Hartwick were ejected from the contest.
