Lambton Shores survives St. Marys comeback, wins 6-4Pyramid Recreation Centre Fri, Oct 25, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lambton Shores Predators survived a determined comeback attempt by the St. Marys Lincolns on the way to a 6-4 win. Lambton Shores made the score 6-3 on a goal by John Warren at 18:32 in the third period, and St. Marys got as close as 6-4 when Colin Nancekinell scored 19:05 into the third period. The Predators were led by Cleo Gubbles, who tallied one goal. Gubbles scored 17:17 into the third period to make the score 5-3 Lambton Shores. Ty Jackson picked up the assist. The Lincolns were unable to stop Lambton Shores from sending pucks towards the net, and the Predators eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. Lambton Shores surpassed its usual scoring output this season. The Predators have scored at the pace of 2.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Lambton Shores could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game. Lambton Shores also got a goal from Matthew Kenney as well. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Kyler Keating and Brendan Trottier, who each chipped in one and Jay Ritchie and Steven Beenackers, who contributed three a piece. St. Marys' offense rang up 41 shots on the Predators' net. The Lincolns' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. St. Marys was led by Braydon Blight, who racked up one goal and one assist. Blight scored on the power play 2:43 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Lambton Shores. The Lincolns had taken the advantage when Lambton Shores' Keating got sent off for hooking. Garret James (APM) provided the assist. St. Marys also got points from Nico Giannantonio, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mike Siddall also scored for St. Marys. In addition, St. Marys received assists from Ben Kirwin, Braydon Weston APM, and Rai Diloreto, who each chipped in one. Justin Tugwell recorded 37 saves for the Predators. Lambton Shores registered one goal on five power play opportunities. The Predators ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Adam Wammes was ejected from the game. St. Marys' Nick Dampier stopped 27 shots out of the 32 that he faced. The Lincolns incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
