Dauda's goals lift Cambridge to 3-1 victory over Guelph

Behind a great game by Adam Dauda, who had two goals, the Cambridge Winter Hawks defeated the Guelph Hurricanes, 3-1.

Dauda scored at 6:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Cambridge and again while short handed 13:21 into the second to make the score 2-1 Cambridge.

Cambridge pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 48 penalty minutes.

The Winter Hawks' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 11 Guelph power plays. Cambridge kept Guelph's goalie busy throughout the game, and Stormer Santana made 32 saves on 35 shots.

Maxime Lamontagne also scored for Cambridge. More assists for Cambridge came via Alex Bottigoni, who had two and Malcolm Bilton, Matt Pinder, and Hudson Michaelis, who each chipped in one.

The Hurricanes were led by Lucas Pozzobon(APM), who scored the team's only goal. Pozzobon(APM) scored 1:36 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Matt Marsden picked up the assist.

The Winter Hawks' Jacob Keogh stopped 19 shots out of the 20 that he faced. Cambridge registered one goal on two power play opportunities. The Winter Hawks ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Marcellis Subban was ejected from the game. Guelph incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
