Behind a great game by Brett Van Dusen, who had two goals, the St. Thomas Stars defeated the Strathroy Rockets, 5-1. Van Dusen scored short handed at 12:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 St. Thomas and again while on the power play 18:09 into the first to make the score 2-0 St. Thomas.St. Thomas' Riley Brown was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 36 saves and let only one puck past him. Brown managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.1 prior to the game. The Stars kept Strathroy's goalie busy throughout the game, and Tynan Lauziere made 27 saves on 32 shots.
