Chatham pulls away in second, rolls over Lambton Shores, 5-0The Shores Recreation Centre Sat, Oct 19, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Lambton Shores Predators was within striking distance after one period, but the Chatham Maroons put the pedal down in the second en route to a 5-0 victory. Eric Palazzolo was all over the ice for Chatham, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Palazzolo scored the first of his two goals at 54 seconds into the second period to make the score 2-0 Chatham. Michael Verboom provided the assist. Palazzolo's next tally made the score 3-0 Chatham with 10:21 left in the second period. The Maroons had gotten the advantage when Lambton Shores' Jim McKinlay was sent off for interference. Steven Szekesy picked up the assist. Chatham put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Predators to score on any of their five power plays. Chatham also got points from Verboom, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Chatham also got a goal from Connor Doran as well. More assists for Chatham came via Connor Annett, Ben Pataki, John Montgomery, Michael Levesque, and Matthew Kenney, who contributed one a piece. Lambton Shores could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Predators put an average of 2.2 pucks into the net per game. Darien Ekblad made 15 saves for the Maroons on 15 shots. Chatham incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Justin Tugwell rejected 22 shots on goal for Lambton Shores. The Predators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
