St. Catharines rides Dawe to victory over Welland, 4-1

Knick Dawe stood on his head and made 33 saves to lead the St. Catharines Falcons to a 4-1 victory over the Welland Jr. Canadians.

St. Catharines was paced by Brennan Feasey, who registered one goal. Feasey scored 12:28 into the second period to make the score 2-1 St. Catharines. Greg Jambrosich provided the assist.

The Falcons stifled Welland's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man.

St. Catharines also got points from Jambrosich, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Yanni Rallis also scored for St. Catharines. More assists for St. Catharines came via Dilan Walker, who had two and Broderick Kelly, Kyle Woodhouse, Ryan Doucette, Brandon Cercone, and Mitch Bursey, who each chipped in one.

The Jr. Canadians excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Welland could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Jr. Canadians put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game. Welland's offense rang up 34 shots on St. Catharines' net.

The Jr. Canadians were led by Christian Lea, who scored the team's only goal. Lea scored 16:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Welland. Tyler Stranges picked up the assist.

The Falcons incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For St. Catharines, Cam Blakely was ejected from the game. Liam Conway recorded 21 saves for Welland. The Jr. Canadians incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
