Strathroy rips Lambton Shores, 6-2West Middlesex Arena Fri, Oct 11, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Strathroy Rockets had a three-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-2 win over the Lambton Shores Predators. Strathroy's penalty kill excelled, as the Rockets gave up one goal despite allowing six power plays. Lambton Shores was unable to stop Strathroy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rockets eventually piled up 64 shots on goal. Strathroy outdid its season average for goals scored. The Rockets have scored at the pace of 3.7 goals per game during the current campaign. Strathroy was led by Tyler Duarte, who grabbed two goals and two assists. Duarte scored the first of his two goals at 9:49 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Strathroy. Nick Boyer assisted on the tally. Duarte's next tally made the score 4-1 Strathroy with 8:30 left in the second period. Ryan Field picked up the assist. Strathroy additionally got points from Chase Thornton, who also registered one goal and one assist and Boyer, who also had one goal and one assist. Strathroy also got a goal from Jack Van Boekel as well. Other players who recorded assists for Strathroy were Kurtis Sander, who had two and Tony Belony, Andrew Martin, and Max Naus, who each chipped in one. The Predators found themselves short handed often, totaling 26 penalty minutes and allowing seven power plays. Lambton Shores was helped by John Warren, who finished with two goals. Warren scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 3:28 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Strathroy. The Predators had gained a power play chance when Jordan DaSilva was whistled for high sticking. Jay Ritchie assisted on the tally. Warren's next tally on the power play made the score 4-2 Strathroy with 6:05 left in the second period. Nick Sproveiro provided the assist. In addition, Lambton Shores received assists from Ty Jackson, who had one. Tynan Lauziere recorded 22 saves for the Rockets. Strathroy incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Justin Tugwell rejected 58 shots on goal for Lambton Shores.
