Caledonia blows out Ancaster, 4-1

The Caledonia Corvairs were firing on all cylinders against the Ancaster Avalanche, and when the final buzzer sounded Corvairs emerged with a 4-1 win.

Ancaster's power play was ineffective against Caledonia's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

The Corvairs were paced by Greg Christmas, who finished with one goal. Christmas scored 2:08 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Caledonia. Mitch Brown provided the assist.

Caledonia's offense rang up 43 shots on the Avalanche's net. The Corvairs could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 78 minutes in penalties during the game.

Caledonia additionally got points from Cody Brown, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Connor Murphy, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Caledonia also got a goal from Cosimo Fontana as well. In addition, Caledonia received assists from Kyler Nixon, who had one.

Ancaster was held below its usual level of production. The Avalanche put an average of 4.0 pucks into the net per game. Ancaster could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 58 minutes in penalties during the game.

Caledonia's Colin Furlong stopped 17 shots out of the 18 that he faced. The Corvairs registered one goal on three power play opportunities. For Caledonia, Scott Dorian was ejected from the game. Blake Richard rejected 39 shots on goal for the Avalanche.
