The Thorold Blackhawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Buffalo Regals on the way to a 4-2 win. Thorold made the score 4-0 on a goal by Joe Mitchell at 2:27 in the third period, and Buffalo got as close as 4-2 when Jordan Matos scored 19:07 into the third period. The Blackhawks' offense rang up 44 shots on the Regals' net. Thorold was helped by Chris Goulet, who registered one goal. Goulet scored on the power play 14:00 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Thorold. The Blackhawks had taken the advantage when Buffalo's Taggart Ledyard got sent off for interference.
