London outlasts Sarnia, 5-4

The London Nationals and the Sarnia Legionnaires were evenly matched throughout their contest, but London made the most of its opportunities and won, 5-4.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Matt Fuller secured the win for the Nationals with a goal in the third period.

London was paced by Fuller, who racked up one goal. Fuller scored 16:15 into the third period to make the score 5-4 London. Mark Gazdic assisted on the tally.

The Nationals forced Sarnia goalie Sean Parker to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots.

London additionally got points from Kyle L Robinson, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Austin Kemp, who also registered one goal and one assist, and Scott Lombardi, who also had one goal and one assist. Jeff Bauer also scored for London. In addition, London received assists from Ryan Shipley, Tristen Elie, Chris Maton, Ryan Tuffin, Keaton Ratcliffe, and Derek Todosichuk, who contributed one a piece.

The Legionnaires were helped by Thomas Moxley, who racked up one goal. Moxley scored on the power play 19:45 into the second period to make the score 4-4. Sarnia had taken the advantage when London's Paul Hopkins got sent off for hooking. Josh Kestner picked up the assist. Sarnia also got points from Jay Clarke, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Riley Roberts, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Sarnia also got a goal from Cody Trowell as well. More assists for Sarnia came via Ryan Vendramin, who had two and Hunter Tyczynski and Bobby King, who each chipped in one.

The Nationals' Liam Herbst stopped 21 shots out of the 25 that he faced. London incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Sean Parker made 31 saves for the Legionnaires on 36 shots. Sarnia incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
