Huge game by Campagnolo boosts Elmira over Guelph, 5-2Sleeman Centre Sat, Oct 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Adam Campagnolo had two goals and one assist to lead the Elmira Sugar Kings to a 5-2 victory over the Guelph Hurricanes. Campagnolo scored at 10:03 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 8:41 into the second to make the score 4-1 Elmira.Elmira forced Guelph's goalies to work between the pipes, getting 44 shots and forcing 39 saves. Stormer Santana made 13 stops and Bradley Van Schubert made 26. The Sugar Kings were ineffective while on the power play, as they were held to two goals off of 14 man advantages. Elmira additionally got points from Brad Kobryn, who also racked up one goal and two assists and Mitch Wright, who also had one goal and two assists to lead the team in points. Brodie Whitehead also scored for Elmira. Other players who recorded assists for Elmira were Cass Frey, who had one and Craig Johnson, who had two. The Hurricanes could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 42 minutes in penalties during the game. Guelph was led by Lucas Pozzobon(APM), who tallied one goal. Pozzobon(APM) scored 9:04 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Guelph. Guelph also got a goal from Craig Martini as well. More assists for Guelph came via Griffin Heitshu, who had one. Hayden Neuman rejected 20 shots on goal for Elmira. The Sugar Kings incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Hurricanes registered zero goals on two power play opportunities.
