Lauziere leads Strathroy to shutout victory over St. MarysWest Middlesex Arena Sat, Oct 05, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
Tynan Lauziere recorded a shutout against the St. Marys Lincolns as the Strathroy Rockets picked up a 6-0 win. Strathroy got the win on the strength of a great game by Mike Mandarelli, who had one goal and two assists. Mandarelli scored 6:31 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Strathroy. Chase Thornton provided the assist. The the Rockets penalty box was a popular destination as the team totaled six minors and two majors for 32 minutes in penalty time. Strathroy had been averaging 27.0 minutes in penalties per game. The Rockets stifled St. Marys' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Strathroy was steadier on the defensive front than it has been for much of this season. The Rockets gives up 2.4 goals on average per game. The Lincolns were unable to stop Strathroy from sending pucks towards the net, and the Rockets eventually piled up 52 shots on goal. Strathroy bested its season scoring average. The Rockets have scored at the pace of 3.6 goals per game during the current campaign. Strathroy also got points from Shawn Grogan, who also had two goals and one assist and Brett Dalton, who also grabbed one goal and two assists. Strathroy also got a goal from Wes Baker as well. In addition, Strathroy received assists from Jordan DaSilva, Kurtis Sander, Nick Boyer, and Dan Chapman, who each chipped in one. St. Marys was often in penalty trouble, totaling seven minors and two majors for 34 minutes in penalty time. The Lincolns surpassed its season average of 25.0 penalty minutes per game. St. Marys could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Lincolns put an average of 2.3 pucks into the net per game. Strathroy's Lauziere stopped 30 shots out of the 30 that he faced. The Rockets registered one goal on six power play opportunities. For Strathroy, Colin Hartwick and Tyler Coleman were ejected from the contest. Nick Dampier made 46 saves for St. Marys on 52 shots. The Lincolns registered zero goals on five power play opportunities. Team's Luke Jackson and Alex Deluce were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
